Foundation Events


The Gogebic Community College Foundation is hosting the 8th annual ‘Taste of the Gogebic Range’ on Monday, April 24, 2017 in the David G. Lindquist Student & Conference Center.  This event features samplings and offerings of food and beverages from area restaurants, businesses and caterers.  Samples include soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, beverages and desserts.

 “If you have not been to a Taste of the Gogebic Range event, you don’t know what you’re missing!” said Kelly Marczak, Gogebic Community College Foundation Director.  “The Taste is one of our favorite events of the year because it brings people together in a fun, informal setting that involves amazing food and the opportunity to socialize with friends.  We are fortunate to have the support of our local businesses that participate in this event – it provides them an opportunity to showcase some of their specialty items and promote their business while supporting our students – and we couldn’t do it without them!” 

 A social hour will be offered from 5 – 6 p.m., with ‘The Taste’ available from 6 – 8 p.m.  Coffee and punch will be available free of charge, beer and wine will be available for purchase to complement the food offerings. 

 There will be two contests going on during the event. The ‘Tasters’ Choice Award’ will be voted on by the attendees, and the ‘Best of Show Award’ will be decided by special judges.  Booths will be judged on overall display, presentation of food samples, and taste.  Special awards and bragging rights are awarded to the winners!

 Tickets are limited and are by advance purchase only at a cost of $20 per person.  There will be no ticket sales at the door.  Contact the GCC Foundation Office at (906)307-1201, to reserve your tickets today. 

 All proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Gogebic Community College Foundation.  The Gogebic Community College Foundation was established in 1977 as a non-profit corporation and exists solely for the support and development of the College and its mission.
